Kids Stress and Anxiety

Picture
Children and adolescents are vulnerable to the harmful effects of stress and anxiety just like adults. In fact, kids may be at greater risk to develop symptoms of stress and anxiety because they have not developed the strategies and coping skills that come with maturity and life experience.

Signs and Symptoms
The signs of childhood stress and anxiety are usually physical in nature.
They typically include headaches, stomachaches, poor appetite and trouble sleeping. They may also include sudden changes in behavior such as resistance or refusal to attend daycare or school. Stress and anxiety can also affect a child's ability to preform academically or on the sports field.
